I’ve always loved the natural world, from finding caterpillars in my back garden to attending field study courses around the UK. It was during these field study courses that I first picked up a camera, an Olympus OM10! Looking back I didn’t take any good photographs with that camera but it certainly provided the catalysis for what is now an obsession. I took an unintentional ‘sabbatical’ from photography but throughout my first summer back home from University I re-found my passion for photography. I’ve been filling up memory cards as well as increasing my knowledge of both photographic technicalities (the boring bit!) and wildlife ever since.
I also love to travel and more often than not I bring my camera with me. It was during a year out from work that I started trying to make something more of my holiday snaps. These travel photographs are also displayed on my website in the ‘People and Places’ gallery.
